Tasting Notes and Australia and Variety and Red and cabernet et al and Blackwood Valley
This is from the Blackwood Valley region of Western Australia although I’d say any sort of terroir influence has been smothered by the very seductive come-hither oak.
Humming with the perfume of sweet vanilla oak, spice, plum, cassis and a little earth. On the palate medium to full bodied with vanilla, plum, berry, spice and milk chocolate. Fine grained lightly grippy tannins. No great depth of flavour and slides away a little on the back palate. Finishes with a rose and vanilla aftertaste. Nice enough but ‘All Hat and No Cowboy’ to pinch a turn of phrase.
