I know it has been done to death but now we have DIAM added into the equation. Have your say. It won’t take you a minute.

I went with screwcap as I have not read enough about DIAM keeping its elastic properties over 10-20 years.

Its a strange survey, why did you group screw or diam together, doesnt allow for a preffered closure comparison.

I was waiting for Adam to undermine this survey… good tact though.

I grouped it together (and voted for it) because it is basically saying ‘Anything but cork!’

So why didnt you give an option for Diam and Cork, eg anything but screwcap????

Because DIAM is not natural cork…..it is an alternate non-traditional closure.

Given that more than 50% of the wines tasted for James Halliday’s Wine Companion 2007 were bottled under screwcap, this closure has almost moved beyond “alternate closure” status.
In Australia, anyway.

100% of the 2004 Cape Mentelle Cabernet Sauvignon - for domestic market and export is under Stelvin.

I like Diam, it is a cork product and is far different from Screwcap. They are totally different. Fool

Yeah - talk about stacking the vote.
Why note diam and cork?
Heathens.

Quibbles notwithstanding, it looks as though 88% are sending a pretty clear message.

My dear boys,
It is not about stacking the vote. The question really is ‘Do you want your cellaring red wines sealed with traditional natural cork…or something else whether your preference be screwcap, DIAM or either of them’
There is even the option to say ‘I dont care’
