Annie’s Lane Cabernet Merlot 2005

By Lincoln

No preamble this time; I am feeling terse. A robust nose, with mulberries, blackberries, olives and smoky tobacco leaf. There is also a bit of varnish, just a bit, but it is there. The palate showed black currants, and oddly a bit of green capsicum, and dry spices, with a bitter and leafy finish. Now though it is perhaps a bit thin through the palate, it is very drinkable if you don’t go looking for faults (an accusation levelled at me more often than I like, mostly by myself). Drink over the short term.
