Antiche Tenute Burchino Chianti Superiore 2002
By Lincoln
A lunch of cured meats, cheeses, ciabatta and olive oil demands a Chianti, and that is what it got. Red leather, earth, dried herbs like oregano and thyme, red fruits, and some sweaty hide. The palate is quite light really, with some sour cherries and prominent acid. Quite rustic, nothing earth shattering, and really needs some food to show its best. An enjoyable drink; sometimes a wine doesn’t need to be noticed to do the job it was intended for.
