A Hunter winery, but the grapes for this wine are from the high altitude Alpine and King Valleys. A pale straw in colour. Powerfully aromatic on the nose, with gooseberries, steamed asparagus spears and unripe lemons. The palate is clean and pretty well balanced: yes, there is the herbaceousness, the gooseberries and a few peas, but it is quite rounded. A lighter wine, with that herbaceous edge, and a nudge of acid that should help it slip down a treat with some fresh seafood.
