Tasting Notes and Australia and Coonawarra and Variety and Red and cabernet et al
I tend not to bother tasting a lot of the low end stuff that gets sent in, not because I am elitist or whatever, but mainly because I think there is very little interest in reading about it. Anyway I took a mixed dozen down to my parents and fished this out of the box. A ten dollar Coonawarra cabernet from a good vintage piqued my curiosity so I had a glass with dinner.
Bright scarlet red. Aromas of red fruit, capsicum and mint with minimal oak influence. Quite attractive to smell. On the palate a light to medium bodied wine with red fruit, herb and peppery flavours. Not much depth or weight but clean and refreshing. It seems honest and drinks pretty well.

The think the brand is now owned by Woolworths who bought the Baily & Baily stores in Adelaide some years ago and turned them into Dan Murphy outlets.
