Baily and Baily CabernetI tend not to bother tasting a lot of the low end stuff that gets sent in, not because I am elitist or whatever, but mainly because I think there is very little interest in reading about it. Anyway I took a mixed dozen down to my parents and fished this out of the box. A ten dollar Coonawarra cabernet from a good vintage piqued my curiosity so I had a glass with dinner.

Bright scarlet red. Aromas of red fruit, capsicum and mint with minimal oak influence. Quite attractive to smell. On the palate a light to medium bodied wine with red fruit, herb and peppery flavours. Not much depth or weight but clean and refreshing. It seems honest and drinks pretty well.
