Tasting Notes and France and Bordeaux and Variety and Red and merlot et al
I don’t know how much it costs locally, but I want to buy a few. It’s Merlot dominant (as you would expect) with a small percentage of Cabernet Franc and as an unreformed Merlot enthusiast..well let’s just say I’m very enthusiastic…
Delightful aromatics - black plum and blue fruits, tar, minerals, white flowers, camphor and liquorice all backed up with toasty oak. It’s a veritable shopping list of descriptors all right. In the mouth full bodied, concentrated and strong with plenty of dry tannic extract, fresh acidity and rich ripe fruit that saturates the palate - falling to savoury and earthy rather than sweet. Finishes long and dry with a slick of fine powdery tannin. Authoritative and engaging: a great wine.

The label looks like supermarket Bordeaux! The contents evidently not. I’ve not seen this before either, but I presume that it will be available somewhere given that it’s a sample, as you say.

I like the label..it’s brought in by Negociants and is the French cousin of Colonial Estate (Barossa).

I am probably a bit old school with Bordeaux labels. I like them to be grand and pompous! You know, the kind that force you to appreciate the wine, even if it is thin, green and vile.
I shall look out for this in any case. No idea about a rough price? I’m guessing $60-70??

Think retail is around $130 a bottle.

Well it’s a modern style of Bordeaux so the label suits it.
$130 eh..email coming.

Well, there you go. Shows how little some Médoc-o-philes know about the other bank and how much its wines are worth!!
Well, it’s cheaper than Cheval Blanc I’ll wager. Any ideas where a Gold Coaster might find a bottle to try??

Boccaccio have it listed..any bottle shop would get it in for you. Negociants are widely available.

Thanks Gary. I’m going up to Brisane during the week on business, so I’ll nose around, and if unsuccessful do as you say.
