Tasting Notes and Australia and McLaren Vale and Variety and Red and shiraz et al
The first bottle I tasted was corked but and I am told that as of the next vintage this wine will be under screwcap. Excellent news.
Opens quite reductive with stinky old flower water characters but has attractive blackberry, pepper and dark chocolate aromas underneath. On the palate medium to full bodied with blackberry, pepper and chocolate flavours with firm drying tannins but lacking the fruit weight to cover them up. Finishes dry and slightly charry. A good solid wine but somewhat of a disappointment considering the fine pedigree of this wine. Perhaps a poor bottle?
