This is the last of the samples from this excellent micro producer and I’d have to say that with 2005 and 2006 still in the wings I’d be keeping at least one eye on Finestra. eMail lang10@bigpond.com for enquiries.
Aromas of blackcurrant, red fruit, red capsicum, a little mint and light cedar vanilla oak. A fine smelling cabernet. On the palate light to medium bodied with fresh red fruit, blackcurrant and some light herbal flavours. Very fresh tangy acidity and light gentle raspy tannins. Finishes with spicy red fruit flavours. A bantam weight but fighting fit for the cellar.

Had a bottle of this last night and thought that it was delicous. Light weight for a cabernet but well put together and great value

Look at that..Winorama must have saved you at least $20 by not choosing a more expensive Cabernet…

Glad to hear that you enjoyed the Cabernet and thanks for your recent support of the Pinot - much appreciated. There is a reason why you can’t find out more about us: we are very small and my marketing efforts are sporadic (pathetic is probably a better descriptor). BL. Will be on the lookout for this wine, due to GW and Rawshack’s notes. Its interesting I think, with very small wineries, that word of mouth can make such a difference. I guess for the amatuers (no, I don’t mean GW) it is pleasing to know we can try and give back some of the value we receive by “championing wines”. There are certainly some niche wineries who give great value, and if I can’t give them all my allocated wine budget I can at least help promote the cause (Curly Flat for example

I had the pleasure of meeting Bruce a number of times at the Yarra Valley Dairy and found him just like the wines; unpretentious and immensely likeable, except the Shiraz ( sorry ).
