Tasting Notes and Argentina and Variety and Red and other reds
Don’t cry for me Argentina…or I may start a punch up after a penalty shootout. I am hoping to drink a wine from the country of each team that is vanquished from the world cup. Drinking Australian wine did not help Australia so I am going for reverse psychology. I expect I will be drinking (in the following order) something from Portugal, France, Cachaca 51 (Brazil), Italy and then Germany. Mercifully I won’t need to drink anything from England. Go England!
This wine is imported by Departure Lounge and is named after the thistle. The grapes are grown at 1000 metres above sea level.
Aromas of red fruit and plum, smoke, herbs, pepper and aniseed. The palate is medium bodied with redcurrant, cranberry, dried herb, aniseed and spice flavours. Fairly coarse but light tannin. Savoury slightly herbal finish. A refreshing wine and one I really enjoy drinking. WineFront might call it a ‘Mucho Yummo Wino’ but we are far more serious around these parts I can assure you.

Get ready to drink the Nyetimber Mr Walsh.
Curious naming this. I thought Doña was considered pretty impolite in the Spanish speaking world.
