Gibsons Reserve Merlot 2004 Saturday, Sep 30 2006
Tasting Notes and Australia and Barossa Valley and Variety and Red and merlot et al
A great mix of fruit: 86% Barossa, 10% Adelaide Hills and 4% Barossa Cabernet. Yes, I am drinking Cabernet! This was pretty good stuff, straight off the bat. Medium to dark red colour that is very attractive. The nose has a tobacco like oak that is really well matched with the ripe and rich plum flavours of the merlot. Some spices evident on the finish, a touch of cinnamon and a little white peppper. But the overall impression is of lovely fruit.
