Gran Lurton Cabernet Sauvignon Gran Reserva 2001

From the stable of wines made by Jacques and François Lurton, this one is made from grapes grown in the regions of Tunpangato and Vista Flores, close to the Cordillera of the Andes. Creamy oak and a bit of stink, red currants and cigar box. Sweet red fruits on the palate, red and green capsicum, but initially a bit thin and short. It builds with time, showing savoury farmyard tannins and a drying finish. Needs some time, and should rate higher.
