Greenhough Pinot Noir 2005
By Gary Walsh
Eight clones, hand picked with 10% whole bunch fermentation. I have a range of wines to try from this producer and it looks like being an excellent addition to the already excellent portfolio of Victorian distributor Linear Acidity.
Aromas of cherry, strawberry, a little chocolate, light creamy oak and heavy white pepper characters. On the palate medium bodied with cherry, strawberry, pepper, spice and sour edged tamarillo flavours. Bright acidity and sappy grainy tannins. Good dry spicy finish. Varietal and tasty. A good wine but I find the white pepper characters a bit distracting.
