Greenhough Sauvignon Blanc 2006
By Gary Walsh
The bottle shot here looks like it is falling backwards but the wine is not backwards in coming forwards. It contains 5% fermented in new oak too.
Aromas of passionfruit pulp, pineapple, capsicum, a little sweat and a dab of creamed honey. Punchy aromatics. On the palate passionfruit, citrus zest, pineapple and spicy capsicum flavours with a fairly soft texture and just enough acidity to provide a shape and cut - albeit a slightly loose fit. Finishes with zesty citrus rind and capsicum aftertaste. A more gentle expression of NZ Sauvignon Blanc.
