LandhausThe eagle has landed, and in this case I am the eagle, but not the walrus, although travelling can have that effect if one is not careful. I opened this up because I was feeling tardy, possibly even guilty, and it should have been reviewed a fair while ago. It is another wine from the portfolio of Linear Acidity. Bit of a daft name really now I think on it. The fruit is hand picked and comes from 85 year old vines in the Lyndoch sub-region of the Barossa Valley. OK. Go!

Aromas of ripe sweet red fruits, empty milk chocolate box, spice, rose, rosemary and some gamey meaty characters. On the palate medium bodied with ripe raspberry/strawberry, spice, dried herbs and meaty flavours. Sweet fruit but not confected and with those bitter herb flavours to add balance. Light dry sandy tannins and some warmth. Not heavy. Danger - extreme drinkability approaching. It is the sort of wine that could get you into a bit of mischief in no time flat.
