Leo Buring Clare Valley Riesling 2005For some unknown reason when I see the name ‘Leo Buring’ I think of a middle aged man, with a comb-over and thick glasses, sitting behind a desk wearing a cardigan. Anyway, I just checked to see what he looked like and I had the glasses right..but not much else. Quite a dapper chap.

Quite floral and boisterous with lemon barley, fennel and green apple smells. On the palate juicy green apple, lemon/lime and mineral flavours. It is lightly chalky with a little grip and slightly coarse acidity but plenty of character and charm. A more robust sort of Eden but nonetheless a very enjoyable wine.
