MarganI have a selection of these new Margan ‘White Label’ wines to work through. Done two. So far so bloody good. There are only two hundred cases of each wine made and the range consists of a shiraz, shiraz mourvedre, cabernet merlot and semillon. All vineyard designated. This semillon comes from the Beltree vineyard (Belford) which was planted by the Elliot family in the 1930’s.

Aromas of lime juice, hay and a little wool jumper. Very pure and restrained. On the palate fine and flinty with lime/lemon and light grassy flavours. Clean fresh acidity. Lovely balance. At the moment it is like listening to a child prodigy banging out their first notes on a piano. Simple as ‘chopsticks’ now but the development potential is huge. Have patience.
