Tasting Notes and Hunter Valley and Australia and Wines of the Month and Top Value

I know that I’ll probably cop some sort of a bucketing for rating yet another young Hunter semillon so highly but well…there you go. I can take it. I am a big boy. Not as big as the Eather brothers who make the wines though. I’m getting more and more Big Kev’d about the 2006 vintage with every wine I taste. Maybe you could say they look like the lovechild of the tight lean 2004 and the softer more perfumed 2005 vintage? Righto then.
Aromas of lemon/lime, green banana, hay, spice and something like flowering basil. On the palate crunchingly fresh and zesty with lemon/lime fruit and slightly grassy flavours. Flinty and bone dry. Lean but very intense. Long citrussy mouthwatering finish. You can drink it now if you are so inclined but just remember that patience is a virtue and good things come to those who wait…then again if the weather turns unexpectedly warm and you have seafood to hand… just stuff all that….and break seal in case of emergency.

Tasted this en-route last week. You will get no retribution from anyone who enjoys top class sem. What a find, am loving the site.

The Deek. Agreed but if Gary invites you on a date, just say NO.
