Meerea Park Terracotta Shiraz 2003 Monday, Mar 20 2006
Tasting Notes and Hunter Valley and Australia and Variety and Red and shiraz et al

Seemed like quite an oaky nose to me, with lots of coffee beans. It also has toffee and tarry black fruits, a masculine horsiness and dry stones. The palate showed black cherries and black fruits, red liquorice and a dusty drying finish. It has more coffee nutty oak that the Aunts, and the fruit is standing off-stage at the moment, so leave it a few years before trying again, and then hopefully it will be centre stage and singing like Pavarotti. I prefer the Aunts at the moment, but perhaps the Terracotta will be the better wine in the long term. Another bigg’n from Meerea Park.
