Tasting Notes and Australia and Barossa Valley and Variety and Red and shiraz et al
The wine was in excellent condition. The nose was full of dusty, briary flavours. On the palate it was a delicious mix of fruit and aged character. It is very long and very nice. The nose tended to develop caramel/oxidized notes pretty quickly but the palate stayed right on the money. So I suggest it is at its peak and will now gently slide away and with a bit of old tree bark to help some will be greater and live longer than others. So the 2010 is a tricky but possible target.

All things considered, a dinner circa 1998/9 at the old Cafe Grossi in South Yarra with a great friend at which we partook of the aforesaid 1986 St Henri, remains close to the top of the heap for me so far as wine/food experiences. It was, as you say prostigious
