Petaluma Shiraz 2005

By Gary Walsh

Petaluma RedThe 2005 vintage now sports the official Petaluma yellow label. This includes about 7% viognier.

Aromas of dark cherry, dark plum, honeycomb, mint chocolate and plenty of toasty vanilla oak. Really pretty fragrant and very minty. On the palate medium to full bodied with sweet dark cherry, blackberry, choc mint and creamy vanilla oak. It has a slightly slippery texture with firm fine lightly grainy tannins and long vanilla and dried herb finish. Quirky wine. I like it.
