Tasting Notes and Australia and Henty and Variety and White and pinot gris/grigio
Oh..a pinot gris…both topical and tropical. I must dash out to a posh Sydney restaurant and put my sunglasses on immediately. Foolishness aside I would like to add that I tasted both the pinot gris and marsanne/rousanne out of ISO (and of all things) a Riedel shiraz glass. I think the shiraz glass really gets the aromatics happening in these wines - i.e. the drier tighter styles. Works for me anyway.
Aromas of lemon, apple, fresh lychee, spice, talc and hints of musk stick. On the palate it is refreshingly crisp and bone dry with lemon, fresh lychee (not tinned) and musk flavours with squeeky acidity. Finishes with crisp spicy lemon water flavours. This is a well balanced excellent example of the variety although I would say it leans more to grigio than gris in style (mercifully).

High praise for a Pinot Gris here Gary, I may need to find a drinkable Sauv Blanc to review in order to keep up with the Jones’s.
