Taylors Gewurtztraminer 2006 Wednesday, Feb 28 2007
Tasting Notes and Australia and Clare Valley and Variety and White and other whites
I like ginger beer, musk sticks, Thai food and lychees. All good things. Tasty things. Nice things. No suprise then that I also like a good gewürztraminer given the right occasion. Better for me than pinot gris.
I think I am very close to never reviewing them ever again……
Aromas of ginger beer, lychees, tropical fruit and musk. On the palate flavours of ginger, ruby red grapefruit, musk sticks and light tropical fruit. Dry and distinctly spicy. Slightly lacking in focus but not at all heavy or flabby. Dry ginger spice finish. This is really very good. I just need someone to bring me a nice spicy stir-fry and I’ll be set.

It is bizzare that people will happily consume the most characterless completely unbalanced sugary Pinot Gris, however serve them a cracking bone-dry Clare Riesling and they will look at it as if it is plague-effected. They shouldn’t let people vote.

People like sweetness, even if they often say they don’t. Simple fact of life.

The best way to be…keep your integrity intact..although I do like N.Italian grigio styles and SGN from Alsace. Me I go from one extreme to the other…

PS. Where is Nu’s… assuming of course that it is a restaurant and not an antacid.
