Wirra Wirra Catapult Shiraz Viognier 2005 Friday, Jun 22 2007
Tasting Notes and Australia and McLaren Vale and Variety and Red and shiraz et al
This is a cellar door and on-premise only jobby. Wirra manage tannins really well. If I was to apply to HR for a new Tannin Manager I’d ask if they could secure Ms Connew for the role..total package 20K P/A and all the Ginger Nut biscuits you can eat. As the Doctor said to his patient with the lisp - “Well you can’t say fairer than that then.”
Aromas of plum, raspberry, chocolate, spice and creamy vanilla bean oak. Lovely perfume too. On the palate fresh plum, raspberry, apricot kernel, milk chocolate and spice. Very smooth supple fine grained tannins and a long clean finish. One of those ‘yum yum’ sorts of wines.

Wirra Wirra are a bit of a yum yum sort of winery - Luscious, utterly Mclaren Vale reds that are consistentlt yum, if not always the most complex.

Am pleased to read a good review about this new wine. I’ll now have to order some. Wirra Wirra is definitely one of my favourite wineries, especially for its reds.
