Tasting Notes and Australia and McLaren Vale and Variety and Red and cabernet et al
This must be on more wine lists across the country than just about any other red wine. Is ubiquitous the right word? This year it a mix of 47% cabernet, 35% shiraz and 18% merlot and the back label tells me this makes for a ‘masterful blend’. Ooo I am quivering.
Opens up stinky, charry and meaty but give it some time in the glass (or decanter) and you will be rewarded with a rich smelling wine offering dark cherry, plum, choc/vanilla and brown spices. On the palate full bodied with blackberry, dark cherry, chocolate and spice flavours. Ripe liqueur style fruit that stops just short of being Porty. Plenty of thick ripe tannins. A big hearty drink that would go well with a big juicy steak.

We were watching the Glenn Tilbrook DVD ‘One For The Road’ the other night, set in America during a tour, when we noticed that Glenn and the others were getting stuck into a bottle of Wirra Wirra - RSW I think. One wonder if the W2 marketeers should get stuck into some X promotion?

RSW? Those Squeeze royalties must have finally come through. If they could be civil to each other, a nice little Difford and Tilbrook acoustic set out the back of the old WW cellar door would work a treat.

A few of these were ordered at lunch today. No reduction in any of the bottles but one bottle seemed rich and full and the other lighter and more grapey. Interesting.

This was the only wine I saw that appealed in the Cooktown bottlo at the shopping centre. Yeah, it wasn’t bad I thought it lacked fruit - perhaps it’d been a bit heat affected.
