Wynns John Riddoch Cabernet Sauvignon 1994 Wednesday, Nov 8 2006
Tasting Notes and Australia and Coonawarra and Variety and Red and cabernet et al

My first bottle from a purchase in 1997 - I don’t why it has taken so long to get to a bottle. A big cigar box nose, with cedar, red currants, red capsicum and tobacco leaf. The palate is also big: savoury, dry and nutty, cheesy and creamy, firm tannins, black earth and a bit of goat hide. Another Kramer wine. There is not a lot of love, it is not overly fruity, tending more towards dry and savoury with secondary characters. The finish shows cigar box characters too, and the length is great. Approachable, but the tannins are there. I am repulsed, but I cannot stop drinking it.
