Xanadu ChardonnayJP and I went nuts over the 1997 vintage of this wine. It was a ripper and we bought and drank a fair bit of it but since then I seem to have lost contact with Xanadu chardonnay one way or another.

Aromas of stonefruit, dried pear, citrus, cashew and a fair bit of spicy smoky clove-like oak. On the palate flavours of stonefruit, grapefruit, spicy smoky oak and some savoury lees derived flavours. The fruit is nice and ripe with a good level of intensity and the acidity is clean cut and fresh. No creamy malolactics. Finishes with grapefruit and smoky spicy savoury oak derived flavours. A very smart wine and one that offers excellent value.
